            Tackling Climate Change Risk

            A conversation with Ron O’Hanley
            and Mike Bloomberg

            July 2019

With greenhouse gas emissions reaching new highs, investors are calling on companies to address how they are dealing with both the risks and opportunities of climate change.

State Street President and CEO Ron O’ Hanley sat down with Bloomberg CEO Mike Bloomberg to discuss Mike’s campaign to achieve a cleaner and healthier future by working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Drawing on his years of success in business and public service, Mike describes his new Beyond Carbon initiative aimed at closing all remaining coal-fired plants in the US by 2030.

Ron and Mike also discuss the important role institutional capital can play in tackling climate change and how investor-driven groups like the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures are key to measuring and managing the risks.
